Pro-Shot .22-26 cal rods are .203 inch in diameter and come in 36 and 42 inch lengths not counting their very small diameter handle, or the jag.

Their handle size will allow you to use it with almost any stock without running into the comb.

For CZ's
You're best off with a .17cal rod from any of these manufactures because of the rifles very sharp high riding extractor.
That extractor will slice the nice coatings right off a Dewey, and does a number on Bore-Tech's.

I keep hearing about Ivy rods on this site, but for the life of me I can't see any difference between them and Pro-Shots with one exception.
You can actually purchase a Pro Shot.

When possible I use M.Werks bore guides on all of my rimfire's

The handle is smaller than any bolt that I know of at .62 inches in diameter.

Anyone know what diameter the pro shot 17 and 20 cal rods are? Also anyone know what lengths they make in 17 and 20?

Ive got a factory 40x from 1959 withni believe 28" barrel the a bore guide from mwerk which is 8" long. So i need one long enough to work.

Is the rod length measured without the jag?

Thanks.

All the answers except diameter are here.
http://www.proshotproducts.com/Micro...Rods_c_80.html

The specified lengths of all the Pro-Shot Rods do not include the handle, or the jag.
Just the length of the actual rod.

The .17 cal rods come in 22.5...32.5... and 38.5 inch lengths.

The .17 cal rod diameter is .155".

The .20 cal rod only come in one length, 36 inches.

The .20 cal rod is? ( I don't have one to measure). Figure about .183"

The .22 cal rod diameter is .203".

All measured with a Mitutoyo Micrometer.

MY Anschutz 1717 that you see in the photo on post #19 has a 21.5inch Lilja barrel (measured from the receiver junction).
The receiver measures 7.25 inches. You need to measure yours.
With the M.Werks installed the 36 inch rod sticks out 4.25 inches not including the jag. So the extra 6 inches of the 42 inch would result in it sticking out 10.25 inches without the jag.

Now after stating all of the above, the only rod the will work with your 28 inch barreled 40X is the 42 inch .22 cal rod.

Smoothtrigger which size rod do you use?

Any problems using the Proshot 22/6mm pierce type jag in a rimfire bore or the 22cal brushes?

How far do you want the rod to extend out of the barrel? How long are the jags ? A 36" might work as the end of the rod without the jag would just protrude with the handle touching the bore guide. I could also have the mwerks bushing shortened a little as well.

I just dont want to buys the wrong thing.

Thanks

cleaning rods

I use 20 cal dewy rod on myn1712 with Mwerks guide. I found if I lift the rod over the ejector and start the jag or brush in the bore and then slip the guide in I have no problems with ejector hitting anything or scratching the rod.
