GSG 1911-22 Lube Question

Log in to see fewer ads
I just purchased a GSG 1911-22 with the FDE finish. Packed with the pistol was a sample of LUCAS Gun Lube. Does anyone use this product? Is it any better than Break Free CLP or Rem Oil? Will it harm the finish?

I have had mine a while and have put well over 1,000 rounds through it. I have only used Mobil 1 0W20 oil left from changing the oil in my cars. It works great and shows no wear and looks as new as the day I got it.

Mine likes to be run at least damp; havent broke the seal on the Lucas but cant imagine they would include it if it would cause damage. Actually, you just reminded me it is there, I had forgotten I wanted to put it in a 'bottle' to use it.
I only have a few hundred rounds through mine but like it. Fwiw the Colt's series 80 type firing pin block has a few little glitches, someday I think Ill pull it apart and polish the plunger.

GSG 1911-22 Lube Question

I use the Lucas Gun Oil that came in that pack. Hasnít harmed any coatings yet, but I donít have the GSG FDE, mine is black. Iíve used it on many other guns with no issue.

They have a CLP similar color but lighter viscosity, the gun oil is rather heavy. The GSG 1911-22 seems to like it fine.

Springfield Armory includes several of those same packets in new 1911s.

Talking slide glide RED

I have used this on all my pistols, excellent results, stays where you put it and lasts a long time. I even apply it to the bolts on my henry pump and lever, makes the action super smooth.
