I have a new Black Label 1911-22...and POI is higher than POA. Itís about 2Ē high at 10 yards...and about 4Ē at 25. Is that typical? Is it acceptable for these pistols, or should that be sent back? It is right on at about 5 yards, so maybe thatís where they zero it.

My GSG was the same. Had to get a red dot to correct it.

Haymarket,

Had the same issue as you except mine shot even higher.

"Is it acceptable for these pistols, or should that be sent back?"

That depends on you, if it works for you no problem. Not sure they will do anything if sent back, they did not have a higher front sight last I checked.

The front sights are Novak or very close to novak and can be fitted by you (only file on the front sight, not the frame). Dawson Precision has novak front sights and a sight height calculator. I put a higher front sight from Brownell's on mine to bring the POI down to the POA.

Sometimes they leave the factory with the wrong front sight. It's been known to happen, at least with other manufacturers.
