I recently purchased an older marlin model 60 and the inner tube of magazine is very difficult to insert and remove and feels very tight . Is there anything I can do to fix this.
Yup, swab down the outer tube, anything could be in there, including powder residue and rust.
Clean the brass inner tube with a 0000 wool pad, make that brass shine. Then put on with your fingers, a very very very thin layer of grease, preferably automotive axle grease for its properties.
Also roll the magazine tube on a table to make sure its straight. Like you would a pool cue. The brass mags can be slightly bent out of shape easily.:bthumb:
If there is rust/corrosion in the outer tube, steel wool on a jag will help to get it smooth.
