****50 yard Scoped Entry****

Date June 2
Score: 204-3X
David R 55
Western NY
Remington 541-T
Weaver KT-15
RWS Target
Individual Scores: 42-2X 39-0X 42-0X 47-1X 34-0X

Wind at my back. The older fellas at the club have been giving me pointers. I have read the sling does no good standing off hand. I used one for many years in the hasty fasion.

Once they told me to ditch the sling, I did. Been shooting with out it since and getting about the same scores.
No sling allowed for sporter rifle in the winter, so I am just practicing for that.

Last shot of this match went onto the target to its left in the white scoring ring. I knew it before it got there.

Iron sight practice 6/5/2016
Score: 466-8X
Name: 72coupe/Roy Woodman
Location: Wichita Falls, Tx
Gun: Kimber 82G
Ammo: Wolf MT
Individual Target Scores: 94-2X, 90-1X, 97-2X, 93-1X. 92-2X, two 7, three 8, twenty two 9s,

Score: 468-6X
Individual Target Scores: 96-2X, 92, 91-2X, 95-1X, 91-1X, one 5, four 8, nineteen 9s, This started out to be a pretty good target but I closed my eyes and jerked a 5 on target 3.

Score: 472-12X
Individual Target Scores: 95-2X, 92-3X, 94-1X 96-4X, 95-2X, one 7, four 8, seventeen 9, This looks better on the paper than the score indicates.

For some reason, unknown to me, the second target is always the lowest of the whole target.

May scoreboards are up---huge turnout !!!

Another huge record-busting month for our Match with 41 Entries !!!
Please welcome Larry, Dan, Jerry, Roger, & Jim joining us from Illinois.
Plus another record for us: we had TWO LADIES shooting with us this month, Kathy B & Susan H !

Now I'm going to ask for your help---Please compare your posts to the data format on the scoreboards.
If there is a format difference between the two, that means I had to go back & modify the format to enable the score sorting, or in some cases add a name to identify who the score belonged to because there was no ScreenName in the body of the entry form.
So I need your help folks, if I can just copy and paste from your posts, it's a lot faster than me typing it and I don't have to worry about my typig in mistakes of my own.
When you post your Match Entry, these 2 things in particular will help me work faster:

A--- please be sure your screen name appears within the form (I track & compile best-of-month scores by your screen name)
B---and please be sure your entry score is in this exact format: point count, no space, - , no space, X-count, no space, capital X. For example: 433-11X
The reason for that is if the number format is different, it messes up the data sort on the spreadsheets I use for the scoreboards, then I have to go back and fix it. Creates a real mess and risks us losing 3+ years of historical data on shooters' scores.
So, you can save me a lot of time and possible errors if I can just paste your posted scores into the spreadsheet without having to edit them first for correct format.

Thanks again all for a great turnout !

Everybody should get their format set up to Bob4BVM's spec.

Not sure my post is perfect, but lets assume its ok.
All I do is go to my last positing, copy and paste it, and then edit it with the new targets info.

You could just copy my posting (or a better one if it exists) and then just edit in your info. david root2000's is almost identical.
My format is almost as simple as it can get. I could lose the Score header, but seeing how it's the main point I kinda like it.

Example: My May posting.

<<<<50 yd Scoped Entry>>>>

5-30-16
Score: 221-2X
Smoothtrigger
Washington
Anschutz 1416 D Thumbhole w/5098 Two Stage Trigger
Leupold 6.5-20x 40mmm EFR, no sling, no jacket, no plam rest, nothing.
Wolf Match Target
45-0x 44-0X 42-0X 45-1X 45-1X.
Breezy 65.

The red highlighted areas are what I changed from my prevoius April post.
Takes me about 90 seconds to post up a new score.

Hope this helps.

Smooth

Thanks Smooth,

What I would really like to see is everyone just using the Entry Form as it has been since we started here 3+ years ago. It has been in the Rules thread since day one.

Using the complete standard form helps me to quickly recognize a post as an entry and helps my feeble mind to find the data I need quickly .

Not Using the complete standard form prevents me from developing a method to automatically parse data to import into the scoreboards.

A quick look back shows many are using the form from the rules.
First perfectly executed one I came to was Mike's so I will pick on him as a 'good example':

The form has line headers in CAPS so I can quickly grab the data points I need for the boards.
This was obviously cut/pasted directly from the example in the Rules thread and used as is.
Kudos to Mike, he got it 100%, as I noted below

<<<SCOPED ENTRY>>> DATE: 5-30-2016 [<<===note the word ENTRY is there ]
SCORE: 473-15X [<<===note the perfect number format, nnn-nnX ]
NAME: Mike Houle (Alaska Mike) AGE: 60+ [<<===his ScreenName appears within the form ]
LOCATION: Raton, New Mexico
GUN: Anschutz 1712 Squirrel gun in laminated thumbhole stock, Bushnell 8-32x scope, shot @32x
GUN SETUP: _x_Scope ___Iron sights ___Sling [<<=== without a lot of reading I can instantly confirm this goes on the Scope Scoreboard ]
AMMO: Aguila Super Extra 40gr
INDIV TGTS SCORES: 95-6x, 92-0x, 98-3x, 93-3x, 95-3x
NOTES: Spur of the moment, Susan wanted to shoot a match for this month. We were just able to beat a storm rolling in. Winds were only 5-10mph.

Thanks everyone for your help !

Works for me. I copied the example and edited in my info from last months entry.

<<<SCOPED ENTRY>>>
DATE: 5-30-2016
SCORE: 221-3X
NAME: Smoothtrigger AGE: 62
LOCATION: Washington
GUN: Anschutz 1416 D Thumbhole W/5098 Two Stage Trigger.
GUN SETUP: _x_Scope __Iron sights __Sling
AMMO:Wolf Match Target
INDIV TGTS SCORES: 45-0x, 44-0x, 42-0x, 45-1x, 45-1x
NOTES: Breezy 65

The gun set up is confusing to me.
Looks like you place and x for the type of sight and if you used sling or not. I don't see how to show the scopes brand/model or the power setting used.
Maybe that's not needed. I also think the date should be on it's own line. On my next actual post I think I'll move that date line unless that isn't what you'd prefer.

Smooth

I figured it out and cleaned it up. I went back to your original posting and it looks like more detailed scope info isn't needed.

You got it pretty close !
221-3x should be 221-3X (believe it or not the capital X would matter if I was parsing the data ! )

Take a look at the scoreboards, the essential data is just Name-Rifle-Ammo-Score.
Of course more detail about the gun setup adds interest, that's why I refer people to check out the original posts for all the details. Feel free to add anything you want about scopes/stocks/etc, as long as the main data is there

Bob

While I realize a 473 isn't going to cut it with this crowd, some of the targets were really good, three eights and a five killed my score, will try again.

Certainly nothing wrong with those last three target scores. Good shooting.

Nonsense! While that may not be a personal best for you it's still a good score.

I was at a major silhouette match this past weekend and my scores were less than my usual average score and nowhere close to winning my division. While I didn't perform well for myself I still had fun and isn't that the whole point?
