Argh! Missing firing pin rebound spring and pin

So I've had this one 10/22 for a while - some of you may remember it - it's the one that I bought as a purple receiver, bolt, and trigger group only from a guy on Craigslist for $70. Well, after stripping it and building it into a rifle with the help of kind people here, I've had it out a couple times to shoot. I've been getting pretty consistent FTFs with it, so I decided to take the bolt apart and clean the firing pin and channel. I look inside, and the firing pin return spring and the little pin that fits in the blind hole on the left of the receiver are missing!

Midway doesn't seem to carry them and Brownells wants more to ship them than what they cost. Does anyone know where I could find these two parts?

You can get the spring here and if you call Ruger service I'm sure they could fix you up with a cross pin. If not get a roll pin that diameter at a hardware store

Yeah, I saw that. However, they charge over five dollars for shipping those two little parts that cost $4-something. I don't need to order anything else from them to make shipping worth my while, so I'm looking for cheaper options.

Thanks, but the minimum order there is $10. It gives you a message when you try to check out.

a drill bit can be cut to make the pin. don't remember the size off hand, but easy enough to figure out. the spring may be a bit tougher. only place i can think of to scrounge is some broken electric appliance, like an old walkman or something. lots of little springs in those type of things. i just love scrounging for stuff or just wait till you need more than the minimum order, like when ya need an extra mag or two.

BWP,

i dont know how many 10/22's you have, but IF I had only one, i wouldn't be
to concerned about $5.00 xtra bucks to get it up and running. you already
got it for a "steal". you should be glad the parts are available vs having to
buy a new bolt. i'll bet that would really send you into orbit,

JMO,

Rico....

That kind of what I thought Ruger would do but didn't want to mislead you. Several times I have called them for spring and such and that gal on the phone laughs because she knows how these parts get lost. Usually says I do not have to pay. Great customer service.
