RWS Rifle Match ammo deal review.

Yep that's what I did this morning @ 9 AM, temp was 62*.
Now the range I am a member @ was closed down for shooting unless
you were a part of the black powder Rendezvous festival.
I went too my work buddy's place, I call it barnyard shooting.
So I tried out the new RWS rifle match ammo that was a good deal to try it
out, the wind was manageable and had two wind flags.
The rifle I used to test was a CZ 452 Varmint made in 06, trigger pull 1.25 lbs, stock
has been glass bedded for the receiver and a 1" barrel pad.

I used the RWS rifle match ammo for the Fun match's here on RFC and there shot
@ 25 yards.
The targets change every month, and both targets you have too shoot 2 shots
per bull and you get -5 points deducted if your bullet touch's the white...not good.
There is 3 classes like class 2 is like hunting rifle class and class 3 is for target
rifles.
So I shot class 2 & class 3 and these targets are harder then ya think and have
found over the years you have too have good ammo that is consistent and
predictable.
I am not much of a group shooter am more of a I want my bullet too go where
I want....like dead center.
Here is my two targets that I am going too post using the new too me RWS ammo.

I am happy with the ammo and would say its as good as SK std + ammo.

Now I did shoot the CZ Varmint @ 50 yards at the end of the morning and
the wind was steadily picking up all morning as time went.
Did use two wind flags they did help but was tricky had wind changes from like
3 directions at times.

I also sighted in my 10/22 I built for hunting on a budget for like 400 bucks
https://www.rimfirecentral.com/forum....php?t=1230907
CCI Std V for my hunting sight in for small game and also shot in the fun match's with it also.
Now my 10/22 shoots CCI Std V ammo very well and is fresh ammo from CCI direct.
Here is the 50 yard target, L target is the CZ with the RWS rifle match and
the R target is the 10/22 with CCI Std V ammo for a comparison.

Yah I would give the RWS target match ammo a thumbs up....good buy.
Glad I bough 6 bricks.

RWS Rifle match shoots VERY good out of my 20" T1X. I have to go to RWS R50 or Eley Tenex to get better results. Both the R50 and Tenex cost well over 2x as much and do not shoot 200% smaller groups.

Liked it so much bought 10 bricks 6 of one lot# 4 of another. Both lot#'s shoot very well for me.
Are also told Norma Tac-22 is RWS Rifle match just relabeled Tac-22. I suspect strongly it is the truth because both shoot equally well from my T1x and both smell the same when fired. I also bought a sizable amount of Tac-22.
Price for both the Tac-22 and RWS RM was so close to CCI SV was foolish not to by a butt load.

I was extraordinarily presently surprised how well Wolf match extra shoots out of my T1X.

I just tested some of this RWS Rifle Match out of my B-14R. Shot 50 yds off bench with Rock BR front and bag rear, 24X. Chronographed as well, Av was 1109 fps with ES of 21 fps, for 20 shots.

Didn't set up wind flags due to lots of mirage and shifty conditions, the group shown was shot as fast as I could operate the bolt in order to hopefully get the same conditions. Temp 71*.

Seems like it was a good buy!

That's a 20-shot group?!?!?!?!? If so, what's a B-14R?

And what specific glass?

And, do you give lessons?

I suspect he was saying that he chronographed 20 shots.......not that the one-hole group included 20 shots.

I've also been pleased with the RWS Rifle Match.

Glad I nailed the 42 boxes.

Group is 5 shots after 20 over chrony. B-14R is a Bergara, glass is Hawke Sidewinder 6-24X56.

Lessons? Depends, have taught many people to shoot handguns, rifles and shotguns, wind reading etc.

Excellent, inspiring results. I thought this might be of interest as it shows that production of the RWS R50 is very much precise. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnFCo1ptouE

The Norma Tac-22 ammo I have actually has the RWS stamp on the brass, so the Norma is made by RWS. I'm not sure if it is actually match ammo though. Norma offers both a Tac-22 and a specific Match ammo.

The Tac-22 shoots really well out of my 10/22 also and I look forward to trying it out of my CZ 457 this Friday.

I mentioned on another thread that this ammo is extremely oily.

It's like trying to stuff little greased piglets into the magazine.

I have since noticed that it's a little better in cold weather.......it gets slightly tacky when cold and is not quite as slippery.

Otherwise, after about a thousand rounds, I find it to be excellent ammo.

I first tried some RWS SS HP on a 90 degree day. I can usually pick uop four rounds at a time to feed into a magazine. These felt as if I'd picked them out of a bottle of motor oil. Loading magazines that lack follower buttons was a one round at a time ordeal.

These are what started me bringing paper towels to the line. I had to wipe my fingers after each reloading. Below 60 degrees, I've no complaints.
