They'll be checking real closely at who was running the priming operation that day!

Did you fire twice in the same location as those look like very deep hits? New gun? First time out with new gun? Or not? Take a pliers to the bullet and rock it back and forth little by little until you loosen and then pull a bullet and look for primer.

Will try a weight the remaining cartridges in box. Did buy two boxes, the second not openeed!

Had another box of Win 22LR HP game loads and they went band of first trike.

Will check out the firing pinbut I have CCI SV 15 boxes from earlier years sale and they go BANG when struck.

Out of the four main components, Bullet, Case, Powder, Primer. The primer weighs very little. I'm not so sure you'll tell much by weighing them?

If they're missing primer CCI will take care of you.

The firing pin strikes look good and deep, but they're not very close to the edge of the rim. I police my brass when possible, so I sorted some. These are shot from a variety of rifles and pistols. Most of them have a square notch that extends off the edge, others have round punches. All are at the edge of the rim. Maybe your firing pin is chipped.

I doubt that. Their reply will probably be like what I got. Send them the ammo. They reply back in about a month saying how they extensively tested the returned ammo, and found everything to be within specs.

In other words, don't bother contacting CCI. Cut your losses, be thankful you only bought 2 boxes and not 2 cases like I did, and never buy CCI again.

Yup! Did the same exact drill years ago, and same response! It's a shame they want to treat their customers that way!

FWIW: That's January 3, 2017 production date on that ammo. Not sure they can change anything other than to log it in the books for complaints.

I've got 2 more partial cases from that year, one in May, one in June that shoot well, but I'm out of a bolt action rifle

That is 3 and half year old ammo. Maybe not an issue, but hard to say if that stuff has been sitting on a shelf in the warehouse of Johnson Sporting Goods. Going through thermal gradients for 3 years and was found recently and put up front.

I have a case of the same lot number and it has been solid plinking ammo for me. I will admit, have seen more 'CCI SV stinks' threads, the past couple of years.
