Marlin 917 JM stamp?

Log in to see fewer ads
I purchased a Marlin 917 in stainless steel with heavy barrel, no fluting, grey laminate stock circa 2004. My question, it is clearly prior to Remington but I do not see a JM stamp on the barrel as on my lever Marlins. (I also own several Remlins and they are just fine). Did Marlin not put the JM stamp on their non-lever rifles?

I just got around to installing a Rifle Basix trigger after all these years, very nice!

Thank you,
James

I did not post a "pick" but I did ask a question. The answer is that the rimfire rifles do not have JM stamps on the barrels as do the lever guns prior to the Remington purchase.

I have three that should be JM rifles. I just never paid that much attention to the markings. Out of curiosity Iíll have to go look.

I have two (2) 883's, both of which are JM stamped. The Revelation Model 120 that I have is HH stamped. I did not check the other Model 60's that I had, because they were lost in a tragic boating accident before I could get to them.

I have an 882 SSV/ circa 1988 (+/-). It has a tiny JM stamp on the barrel just outside of the receiver.

Mine too has the Rifle Basix trigger. It is a great trigger.
