Guy's & Gal's
I have been a fan of the Thompson Center Contender for years. I have also always Loved this site. It has always been my favorite gun site. But due to the 22LR ammo shortage of the last few years I sold all my 22LR firearms in disgust and have not been on here a whole lot since then. It's nice to be able to talk 22LR again on here now that I own 4 of them again. Since the ammo is coming back I am enjoy the Awesome 22's again, which has always been my favorite fun and target round. My father had a Contender when I was learning about firearms as a young man. In my life time I have had almost every style firearm imaginable. I have had a total of three TC Contenders.
The shop that I traded in this one on another gun at 2 years ago still had the pistol so I bought it back today (10-29-2016) went to Cabela's and bought some CCI SV so I will be enjoying my precision shooting again with this great pistol.
I have a 14" 22LR barrel on her and right now just a cheap 9 power scope. The best that I can remember is this thing was very accurate, can't wait to find out. I have been also looking to buy other barrels for her and a bench style forearm. Man prices have really gone up on these pistol parts. Mine was made in 1980 but she is a real beauty.
Thanks for reading my babble but I am very excited to have her back and at a good price since she set on the shelf for two years. Awesome !

Welcome back. You caught a lucky break, that shop still having that pistol on hand.
I have a 1979, bought last year with 50 rounds total fired according to the seller, and it looks it. Is that a Tony Gettel handgrip? It looks like mine.

'Ol Shooter,
I am not sure on the hand grip, it came with a 222 hexagon barrel which I had no use for. Sold that barrel and put the 22LR 14" barrel on it and bought this stock set off of eBay. I bought them 2 or three years ago so really do not remember.

a1712,
Now that is a great story. Congratulations on the reacquisition.

Some new pictures with the new Bench/Bi-Pod Forearm on her. I Love the looks of this forearm and now I am working on getting a better or closer matching grip for her.

I think it looks great, might to consider just matching finishes on them. Where did you get the forearm, really liking it.

Ol'Shooter,
Here you go. I do not believe that posting this will break any rules.

Thanks for the link. I like that reversed AR rifle scope mount the one on ebay was sporting.

did not even think of what that mount was. But sure enough that would be good for a higher powered rifle scope.

I have a few T/C's (about 11 at current count) and have more barrels than frames . My 22lr is a AA II with both a 10inch & 14 inch barrel topped with Burris glass.

But I also own AA barrels in 44mag and 30-30 Winchester and all wear Burris glass.

But the most accurate 22lr I own is an Encore with a custom 14inch barrel topped With a Weaver T36 scope and believe it or not that barrel loves Remington Bulk Pak ammo

First 10 rounds out of that barrel shot at 50 yards

Enjoy your T/C's
Darryl
