Hitting a wall, need BRNO M4 rings suggestions

This is such a dead horse, I can't believe I'm back here again, years after it should have been put to bed. I'm getting frustrated finding the right mix of scope rings to mount my Sightron 36X42mm scope on my BRNO model 4. I thought it'd be a simple matter of using the CZ 527/Warne Maxima/highs. Well when I tried mounting this scope with those, I found the AO dial just contacts the bbl. Firmly so that the dial can't be rotated.

So, I'm off to the races now, trying to find a new combination of rings/mounting system that not only works properly, but is AVAILABLE.

The Warnes measure .550" high from top of rcvr to inside bottom of ring. I need .600 or more. Seems that would be Extra High rings in most cases. Who makes those for the 16mm rail?

I'm considering a DIP rail, but they aren't available att. I need suggestions on what would work and where to get it.

not sure if DIP ever made 16mm to weaver/picatinny derlin adapters? Someone might know and if they ever existed, start asking around.

I used to have aset of 16mm to 19mm steel BRNO adapters, which would probably give you the height you need coupled with CZ550 high rings. I sold my set to a member on here...might be another option to look for.

Are you saying that you have tried the CZ 527 rings, or only the Warnes? If you haven’t tried the CZ rings I can measure the Objective bell on the T-24 that’s on my Model 4, and also the barrel clearance, then you can determine if the Sightron will clear with CZ rings. That is, if you haven’t already tried them.

At one time DIP made two piece adaptors for 16mm to Picatinny, haven't seen them offered in a long time, I had a set but sold them to someone as I went back to irons on my M4.

No I havenít tried any other rings yet outside the Warne ďhighsĒ. I canít find any CZ rings for sale that are high or higher. The Warnes are .535 high. Figure I need .600 or greater to clear the little knurles around the scope AO adjustments. Am considering trying out putting some shim material btwn the gunís rcvr and the ring bases. I imagine that will effect the seating of the base clamps, but I donít need much and the recoil is negligible of course, so I might still be able to achieve a satisfactory grip onto the rcvr grooves and get a hair higher clearance.

This is very frustrating, mostly because the fall-back options seem to not be available in the current economic environment of all things with firearms being in short supply.

Well, scratch my last comment. Suddenly after three days of scouring the internet for either taller ring bases, or a 16mm rail adapter, and coming up with zilch, ebay presented two options; a DIP rail, and an EGW version. Ordered both, see which one actually delivers and fits best. Whew, was actually loosing a bit of sleep pondering a way out of this dilemma.

I'd be tickled to find a pair of them...would love to put some glass on my 617, or one of my 581s, but all the rings I can find are waaay too tall for that task.

284wahoo, it's a little late, but the Burris rings I have here measure .556, including the 'friction paper' they come with.

Thx roddy for checking that. It's such a small increase, I'd be skeptical to go through the trouble of trying to get hold of some to check. Think I'll just forge ahead with trying the adapters coming. Switching gears now, going the opposite direction and am trying to find the "lowest" weaver/picatinny style rings I can find in stock, that are quality rings.

Up for consideration:

1. Vortex Hunter Lows
2. Warne Maxima Lows
3. Weaver Grand Slam Top-Mount lows
4. Burris Zee lows

Of those options, I'd go Warne or Burris.

248, you may have to buy a T-36, for the Model 4. It'd fit with the available rings...

No, am not familiar with this line. Where can I check out those? Google didn’t reveal a website for me. Thx for the suggestion. Have already purchased several Weaver picatinny rails to try out. Seems to be a viable solution so far, but don’t care for the cluttered look it brings.

Here is his ebay site for his D3 rings. They are really excellent and read his full page.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Scope-Rings...-/264268435836

You can send him a msg too, and will reply pretty quick. Good luck

Seemly forgotten by some the Brno Model 4 has a 16mm dovetail, the D3's don't list a 16mm in his Ebay ad, perhaps not cataloged?
