Early on, VQ was reworking the MKIII sears for people. This was mainly trimming a little off the top/back edge to allow the safety to engage. Later (post recall), VQ started producing MKIV sears that also have a bit bigger notch for the disconnector tab to slide into when the bolt opens. I'm not sure what that's about, but it may have something to do with compatibility issues between the metal and the 22/45 frames.
Thanks, so it's the same with my older Makr IV VQ set... I dremeled the part where the safety engages the sear..
