Different Finnfire P94s hunter?

Log in to see fewer ads
Hi All. I'm new to RC and still looking for my first rimfire rifle. I haven't looked at gunbroker for a while and now I see they're currently having 4 used P94s for sale. I've learned that the Finnfire P94s has 3 versions: Hunter, Varmint (heavy barrel) and Range. Among 3 non-varmint models listed, this one https://www.gunbroker.com/item/884505371 has the monte carlo cheekpiece and a thicker end plate compared to others like https://www.gunbroker.com/item/885612025 or https://www.gunbroker.com/item/885545450

Can anyone explain the differences between these 3 and which one is more referable?

Thanks!

From what ive seen the Monte Carlo stocked versions are less common that the straight stock. As for the last link you posted the forearm of that stock looks thicker than the others. Its possible its a later version by the looks of its serial number. Its also missing the plastic piece that goes between the barrel and action.

the 3rd, no one is bidding on the "finnair" because there is something fishy about it. 1. as mentioned the piece between the barrel and receiver is missing 2. the butt plate is very thick and i think has been changed
the 2nd, real nice piece of wood
the 1st, plain but the stock i prefer and probably the one i would pick. although it too has a thick butt pad??

my p94 HB has a butt pad not a plate...

they do shoot quite well, magazines are still available.

good luck, let us know.

Thanks wildbill and cl_leg for your reply! Yes I notice the missing piece and unusual thick butt pad on the 3rd one too. Most of finfire P94s that I've seen from members in this forum also does not have monte carlos stock either so I'm not sure if it's original?

BTW I checked their SN using this link http://berettasupport.com/applicatio...erial_form.htm and returned nothing

Beretta will be no help.
The stock is original as I have seen them before. Not sure if they came with a pad or butt plate. It looks new in box so I would hazard a guess it is original.
At $700 usd buy both.

I bought a P94 from a member here some years ago and it has the Monte Carlo stock with the identical thick butt pad so im pretty sure it is original. Dont know about anyone elses but my stock also seems to have a cast off that makes it more comfortable to shoot offhanded.
As cl_leg mentioned, both 1 and 2 are very nice examples, the 3rd also looks suspect to me.
