Well those Italian guys weren't gun designers but they turned out some of the most beautiful automobile designs ever......think Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Lamborghini, to mention a few.

In terms of beauty of line, form, texture.....overall visual impact and function, truly beautiful firearms rival gorgeous cars, boats, airplanes, etc.

I guarantee you that any of those Italian design geniuses would admire the SA or Superposed, or High Power.

DGF, I used a .570" high Williams Firesight for the front.
I haven't got out to test it yet. I'll be going down to my Arizona place in a week, and will check it out. If that one isn't right I have a few more heights to try.

I , too, have both a SA-22 and BL-22. The SA is fitted with a Leupold 4X and the BL, a Skinner peep. Each sight works and looks correct on the rifle.
I shoot CCI SV in both with "hit the golf ball at 50 yds" accuracy.
Haven't had any reliability problems with either one, but do clean the SA more often than the BL.
For DGF: I am currently waiting for a taller front sight (.600) from Skinner for the BL.

Hey jcp1300,
What Skinner peep do you use on your lever action? The dovetail one that mounts very forward on the barrel replacing the stock rear sight. Or, the expensive receiver's 3/8" scope mount one? Thx.

Also, I have the SA scoped, but looking to get the BL for peep sights. I have a project in mind using the BL Micro Midas and replacing the youth stock with a regular one for an adult (if it will fit). Would make a real neat "coach" rifle and be quite unique. I don't mind it holding only 11 rounds, since the SA holds 10.

Skinner makes a BL-22 specific sight (receiver dove tail mount). I did twist off and get the blue/brass unit. A bit more expensive but the GII looks good with it.
Still waiting on the taller front sight. I suppose the Christmas season is slowing the package delivery.

I was wondering what new height I would need for the grooved receiver peep. Looks like a .600" x 3/8" width is what you needed, too. Skinner offers a .450, .500 & a .600" front in 3/8 width.
Thanks!

I may have to file a bit off the .600 but I want to raise the peep at least 1 1/2 turns to 0 at 50 yds.
