Standard 452 American wood ?

This little American 452 .22 came from Whittaker's.....I took a trip up there a

couple of years back, and I had to buy this .22 American 452.

It begged to be adopted. These pictures were made indoors, and they really

don't do the wood justice. It has a glow of many shimmering colors when viewed

in the sunlight that can't be captured when photographed under artificial light.

I have not put a scope on it yet, it has been in the box since I brought it home.

My scope rings will be here tomorrow, and I am putting a Weaver 4 x 16 42 AO

with fine cross hair reticle on it, or a Bushnell 3200 Elite 4 x 12 AO.

I might use a Sightron SII 4 x 16 x 42 AO.

I have to look at the scopes again to decide.

I think this rifle will be mine until I can't use it any more before it goes to my

best buddy, my son.

That is absolutely beautiful wood. I bet it will shoot as good as it looks.

Gorgeous wood. I'm jealous. Mine doesn't look nearly that nice but it shoots great. I am betting yours does too!!

Gr8..., What model is that? The checkering is different than my ugly 452 American.

Looks like you got the "Fancy" model. Either that, or there's a bunch of folks out there who bought Grand Finales that wish they had your stock on their rifle

Oh, get the Bushnell Elite or the Bushnell Legend Ultra-HD 4.5-14x, either way you will not regret it.

From the looks if the checkering pattern, it doesn't look like a "standard" 452 to me.

It was bought as a CZ 452 American Standard ........Seems like it was 378.00

and tax.

Yes, I am very happy....it seems there were a couple of other buyers that got the

"Fancy" upgrade.

Yeah, that's the fancy model stock. Aside from the wood grain and soft butt pad, it has that quarter round outline on the bottom rear of the checkering on the pistol grip. GMD1950 pointed out that telltale sign a few days ago.

How many years is a "couple if years back"?

You paid almost as much as I did for a "standard" grade back in January of this year. If it was very many years back, you may have paid for the "fancy" grade.

Nope, I did not pay for a "Fancy " It was in 2014 I think. I don't have my receipt until I look it up tomorrow. I am not sure of what I paid for it, I do remember it was less than 380.00 .

Very nice! The wood on the butt stock is about as nice as CZs get, IMO.

As I recall, $378 was Whittaker's standard price for the regular, non-fancy American for quite a while. That's what I paid for my 2012 model, and I think they were selling the last batch they had a few months ago for that until they dropped them even lower and blew them out.

Did you save the box it came in? What does the box have on it? The checkering is different, the rubber butt pad, It is simply a different configuration than the basic grade 452 American. But even though it probably is a "FANCY"; I'm betting it was made before they decided to produce the Grand Finale, or they would have put that wood on a Grand Finale. I bet there are guys who have a Grand Finale who would be willing to trade stocks with you.

Simply labeled 452 American .22, I do agree it is a fancy stock, but I was not charged for one.

You did get a Fancy and it is even extra fancy! As I recall my Fancy 17 HMR American does not say fancy on the box either. So extra fancy at regular price. Its a keeper gr8guns!!!

That is indeed some fine wood on that buttstock!

Definitely a wood lottery winner!

Probably 90% of the Fancy Stocked CZ 452's I've seen sold were not sold at a premium. Why? Who knows but it sure made a lot of folks happy and essentially built the legend of the CZ Wood Lottery.
