Have a 592 that I mounted a BalVar scope on but parallax is a real issue. Gun wants to shoot but unless I'm VERY careful can't hold groups much under an inch at 50 yards. Would like a parallax adjustable 70's vintage variable scope to mount on rifle. Recommendations???

Find an older Leupold 3-9 Vari X that has no prefix in serial number and reset the parallax yourself using info in the RFC scope forum. It is usually very easy to reset them. Plan B is find an old Leupold with AO. Also no letter prefix serial number. Ebay is your friend and Leupold warranty will cover problems. They are very slow right now probably due to the virus problem.

I have a Lyman All American in 10x with AO, not sure just what powers they had AO available. I like it very much. Mine is the later version with 'Perma Center' reticle.
Also some Weavers from back about then came with AO.
I found out a couple years ago that I can shoot closer than the parallax error but only for some of the shots, the others widen it out. Guess Im just not disciplined enough to always get behind the gun exactly the same as some guys do.....
AO has been a good thing for me.

look for a Weaver K10

Weaver K series (8,10,12 etc) are contemporary with the 592 and have adjustable objectives. I have a K10 on mine and it works great!
