Florida, In side the house, March 27, 2019

Florida, 3/27/19, Inside the house, rain today and lots of wind.

Daisy 853, factory sights.
Daisy Precision Max 8.2 gr. pellets
9-8-8-9-8-9-8-7-8-9 = 83

No report this month. I think I will wait for more shooters to post scores before writing up a report. Hope that's ok with everyone.

scope entry
Hammerli AR20 RWS Basic pellets A-17 target 33ft basement range
88 / 100
Believe this will be a fun combination to learn to shoot. 4 power scope which may get changed. I will also use this setup for the metallic silhouette shoots out at the club. May have to get another PCP 10 meter iron sight rifle. DARN!!

I've been stinging large birds in my yard to discourage them from making themselves at home there and pooping all over the place, clear out to 50yards so I think I may try setting up the the 33ft targets and try them again. Just getting over a bad cold that had me down for 2+ weeks, and soon the weather will settle down too. We'll see what results I can get then.

I got a present of a great little Charter Arms Pathfinder 2" 22mag. revolver that is spot on at 15 paces free hand. Love it! Thanks my Friend, you know who you are !

Shooting more than 33 feet distances...

With the low velocity of the Daisy 853, and with the sight settings for 33 feet somewhat dependent of the weight of the pellet, shooting greater distances presents a problem. At my home at Cape Cod, I occasionally will need to let some critter know that I am unhappy with them. So I took to shooting targets outside at various distances with the same sight settings used for the 33 foot targets. This allowed me to better judge where to hold over to hit what I wanted. So my advice if you must use the Daisy to shoot out to 50 yards, a very long distance, is to set up targets at intervals and practice what hold overs are needed to connect along the route. The maximum distance I allow myself at the Cape property is about 75 feet. My shooting would all be offhand if I needed to come out with the Daisy and I have enough trouble with our targets at 33 feet. More than double that and my circle of probability far exceeds the critters I would be stinging. But no harm, no foul. And it is fun if you have reactive targets you can plink at. Make them yourself and leave them in place. Bent coat hanger, string and plastic bottle will do just fine. Plastic bottle too big for the size critters you will be aiming at, use a plastic pill bottle or a golf ball. Have fun.

Thread here on Q-Tips out of a pellet rifle

https://www.rimfirecentral.com/forum....php?t=1160179

Part of first post below, more and some pretty funny, take a look and experiment.

I found another use for the multitalented Benjamin 392 multipump....
If you put a Q-Tip down the barrel (muzzle loading), cock the gun and put one pump of air in it, itíll shoot the Q-tip with reasonable accuracy out to 10-15 feet!
If you use open cell rigid botanist foam as a target, itíll even stick in it like an arrow!
