Why would you want a factory trigger, when you order a Coopper rifle you have a chose of triggers and barrels when ordering a rifle which are better than stock items.

From the factory the only trigger choice for the 57M, 21 and other small Cooper actions is the factory trigger. Due to the small size of the action it cannot use a Remington style trigger like the larger actions can. The factory trigger on the smaller actions is held in place from the bottom side by two allen screws rather than being held in place by pins as Rem 700 style triggers are.

As far as upgrade option barrels being better - Maybe.
Regardless of the barrel used the accuracy guarantee is the same whether it is the factory barrel (Wilson), or an aftermarket barrel such as Lilja, Shilen, etc. I prefer to spend the cost of an aftermarket barrel on components.

The Cooper that l had M36 22lr Varmint Extreme, it had a Shilen SS barrel and a Jard trigger l had all the paper work from 1996 on that rifle and all that was extra not standard build, l would pull it up but my HD on the computer died and l haven't be able to retrieve the files from it yet.

l don't know much about the 57M.

Having been built in 1996 I am not surprised about the Shilen barrel but I have never seen or heard of a Jard trigger from the Cooper factory. Are you sure that it is not a Jewell, they were available on Cooper's during that time frame.
