Splat Factor?

Ok guys, I'm new to the HM2, but what is the "Splat factor" of this nifty new round? Will squirel be torn in half? Birds vaporize? What should I expect with this new bullet?

The HM2 is an under powered HMR. If you want splat, get a HMR or better yet, a 22 mag

Tissue damage 17HM2

I shot 34 prairie dog pups last week with the Honady 17 Gr. V-MAX bullets. My shots were from 25 to 75 Yds. There was far more tissue damage on them than when I shot them with the Win.22 LR PP rimfire ammo. I have not used the new Rem.33 Gr plastic tip 22WMR ammo but I would expect more (splatter factor ) tissue damage with them.

Actually, I bought a 17HM2 because it has *less* splat factor than the 17HMR does. For meat hunting, it's preferable for our uses.

For varmints, crows, starlings, or other stuff I don't intend to eat, the splat factor of the 17HMR is fun fun fun, but when the aim of the game is meat, we use 17HM2 or .22LR for head-shots instead.

I intend to use the Cooper 17HM2 a lot this year for Wabbits, and will of course be posting some results and such after the season opens for us in July.

I think it has plenty of splat power. Check out my post in the HM2 forum. I smacked plenty of Sage Rats this past weekend and some of them came apart quite messily.
