I really like your 22/45 and may have to get one. Is it possible for you to post a pic from the rear with the sights aligned? Is the rear sight a "V" or "U" notch?

Nice pic. The scope looks like a True Dot. I wonder if Mueller buys them from the same vendor.

Are the rings that are included with the Mueller the ones that you used to mount the scope. Also is the base the standard Ruger base that came with the gun. Thanks Al

What is the model number of these two Mark II Target 5 1/2" slab side pistols? Are these Competition Target Model pistols? Did these come from the factory like this? Are they drilled and tapped for scope bases from the factory?

Hello Al,
the base is standard issue that comes with the gun.
there are rings that come with the mueller but I did not like how they had to be mounted, so I got these from Tapco.com

good luck

Hi guys, I just bought a good buy in a Ruger MK III Hunter, it also says MK III target on the other side but anyway, it has a 2 to 6 power Swift scope on it and a VQ comp on it. Very sweet. I just had a few questions for you guys about it.

1. I like a red dot better than a scope so what's a good one with the smaller size dots for the best price?

2. How can I improve the trigger. I averaged 3 pulls with my lyman scales and it's at 3lb 11 oz's.

3. where can I get a set of laminated style or exotic wood grips with the wraparound finger groves for it. I saw a couple a few pages back in this thread.

any info would be great. Bigdog

They did come from the factory that way and were just the standard 5 1/2" slab side. They are no longer made. They were not a competition model. I wanted one, but they quit making them before I got the money to get one.
