Reproduction 52 Sporters?

Are there any difference between the Browning branded and Winchester branded? Are there any differences in the values? Is there any truth that the Browning's have match chambers and the Winchesters don't? I assume the accuracy is equal?

Thanks, Justin

I really have no knowledge other than they were made by Miroku and having 4 Miroku rifles and reading nothing but great comments on the internet from others about Miroku rifles I would expect these to be nice rifles.

As far as accuracy I wouldn't have a clue.

The Winchester Stock resembles the B and the Browning resembles the C I do believe. I have no idea about the chambers. I think value is equal for new in box examples.

Okay, looking at photos it appears the monte carlo cheek piece is raised on the Browning and not on the Winchester.

My Browning looks and shoots great, beyond that...no other knowledge.

50 yards with the Lawyer pin still in place, that will change.

A repop 52 in my area is worth every penny of 700 be it a Winny or a Browning. A manual and box to go with it and they bring 1K around here in nice shape of course. I saw one a month ago that looked like it had been drug behind a truck and asking price was 450. Check GB ended auctions.

Same rifle, different stock. Browning has a raised Monte Carlo like the "real" New Haven made Winchester C sporter did, the Winchester repro has a replica of the old Winchester B sporter stock with the pancake cheekpiece. Take your pick. Have had 2 Winchesters, still have one and like it a lot. Never tried the Browning version but I would expect they shoot the same as the Winchester flavor. The action is such that the bullet is pushed into the rifling 0.10 or so when the bolt closes that last little bit. That may be the "match" chamber that you are referencing. As far as I know that feature is the same on both Browning and Winchester 52's. $700 is a good deal if it's in good shape and an even better one with the box. That's a $900+ package around here. Good luck.

I prefer the Browning C stock with the taller cheek piece due to the high bolt throw of the 52. It makes looking through a higher than normally mounted scope easier than the Winchester version with its B stock.

Awhile back I had a Browning and a Winchester 52 Repro and they both shot very well - 0.30"-0.40" 5 shot CTC 50 yard groups with good match ammo. Very nice rifles.
