Match #1, Club match, NRA Air Rifle resettables, yards
Date: 4-1-18

Weaver T-24

Chickens - 7
Pigs - 8
Turkeys - 8
Rams - 7
TOTAL - 30 (new PR!)

Round #2, Sporter Rifle:
Class: Master
Air Arms TX200 Mk-III
Weaver V-24 @ 24X
Air Arms Field Heavy (10.34) pellets

Chickens - 5
Pigs - 9
Turkeys - 8

Round #3, Open Rifle:
Class: AAA
TX200 again.

Chickens - 9
Pigs - 6
Turkeys - 5
Rams - 6
TOTAL - 26

Light switching winds kept things interesting but it was a nice day for a match. I beat my previous Target Rifle PR by three points (woot!) and tied my Sporter PR. Started to loose my mojo on the third match and had multiple shots go high and/or low and due to the wind.

We're going to have a smallbore practice Wednesday night and our club match on Saturday so I'll have some smallbore scores to post soon.

Getting better.

I've changed my my right-hand grip for this match and it seems to help convert a good hold into a hit down range more often. I still need more work to refine it and get things really synchronized before the Louisiana state match next month and the Texas state match in early June.

We have our regular club match next Saturday so I'll have more scores then.

MATCH #1
DIVISION: SPORTER
SHOOTER CLASS: AA
FIREARM: CZ 452 Silhouette
AMMO :Eley Target
OPTIC: Weaver V-24

CHICKENS....5

PIGS......6

TURKEYS.......6

RAMS.........8

A personal best.

My previous best was a 23. I shot the last of Eley Target that I had, and will now shoot CCI-SV as I have 3 cases of that on hand.
Conditions today were pretty decent. Cloudy, temps. in the low 40's and very little wind.

Great job!

Hitting those eight rams must have put you over the top.

I gave up too many Chickens and Pigs this round. Oh well.

Club match next weekend, assuming we don't get rained out. Forecast is calling for another front to come through Friday evening, so we'll see what happens.

The front came through last night and we held the match, although most of us kind of wish it had been called off... We had 20+ MPH winds blowing us around and almost everyone's scores suffered, especially mine.

In other news, the craziest thing happened at air rifle practice last night... a little bird flew up and landed on my rifle!

It hung out there long enough for me to slowly get my phone out of my pocket and get a couple of pictures, then it let me pet it a couple of times with my finger before it flew off. How crazy is that?!?

Got one round of practice on swingers today. Tried the scope at ~32X just to see how it went. It was kind of windy so I'm not reading too much into the results.

A little redemption from my previous smallbore scores. We had near-perfect weather with temps in the 70's, sunny, and almost no wind.

It felt great getting a second score in the 30's, my other being a 31 from January.

I'll have some scores from our Wednesday night air rifle practice but then next weekend is the Louisiana State match for both smallbore and air rifle, so I'll post those scores after I get home.
