Model 18-7,,, Toss It?

Log in to see fewer ads
I traded off a Model 18-3 that I had owned for a few years,,
the PO had "worked" the sear, and put ugly grips on it,, so it went to an LGS towards a 617.

I had planned to replace the Model 18, but, after a year, none had shown up.

Then, one day about 1.5 years ago, I found this 18-7 at a local LGS.

I really wanted an earlier Model 18,, but, sometimes, you got to take what you can find,,,

Lo, and behold, not 6 months later,, a VERY nice 18-3 popped up,, so I bought that one,,

So the question is, what should I do with the Model 18-7??
either
1) Toss it in the weeds, and watch it rust,,
or
2) Let it take up space in the gunsafe,,

My "fix" is fully taken care of by the Model 18-3,,
What would you do with the Model 18-7,,?

Make a shooter out of it. Clean it up and shoot the heck out of it. 18-7
has a pined front sight, put a fiber optic front sight on it. Makes a great steel challenge gun. If you don’t like that suggestion, send it to me and I will do it. :-))

Shoot 'em. I don't believe in safe queens, guns were made to shoot. Yeah, you can pull them out of the safe on a cold nasty winter day and fondle them but there is no better joy than shooting them.

How's the 18-7 shoot ? There's a lot of interested in older 18's which everyone looking knows they are usually running high . I'd be interested because I can't find anything around here either but I would be thinking the same as you if I found my older choice too . Tuff decisions!

Let me know when you're going to toss it in the weeds. I'll be hiding there to catch it.

The post mim guns are still quality shooters. Buy a double holster rig and go plinking akimbo.

My current model 17 is a post lock gun, and it is a beauty. I also have a refinished k-22 that I plink with, but they are both good revolvers.
