Chewing through my HM2 supply!

I broke open a brick of Hornady Lot # M07K20 early last week to feed my hungry 77/17vbz. I've been going though this brick rapidly. Down to 3 boxes from this brick. Not one failure and accuracy has been fine. I have not noticed a single cracked case from the ones I put in my brass can. I believe this is original 2150fps spec ammo. Anybody know when it was produced? I bought out a local dealer a few years back who had these on the shelf for less than $7 a box. It seems that there has been a lot of lower quality lots produced since the early HM2 ammo made on then new loading machines. I don't think watering down the cartridge to 2000fps did anybody any favors. The original stuff if you can find it at a gun show is still good stuff to shoot!

Watering down to 2000 fps might be just what the Dr. ordered for a semi auto AR, though. We shall see

I like the "hot" stuff in my bolt guns, though. Has anyone actually chrono'ed both types and pulled down to see what the powder weighs and looks like in both?
