With warmer weather, do not know how many will still take part. I dropped off more targets today and talked to some of the shooters. Got several, maybe, might and will think about it, replies. Just have to wait and see.

My best of the month, comes at the end it seems. I still need t get out more...

*** 25 Yd SCOPED **** 3-31-21
SCORE: 473-22X
NAME: Bob4BVM, 71
LOCATION: Oregon
GUN: Kimber 82G #2
SIGHTS: Scope @ 32x
AMMO: Agu.SESV
INDIV TGTS SCORES: 95-3X, 95-4X, 93-5X, 96-5X, 94-5X

So how does a guy shoot 22/50 perfect shots and not break 480 ?
By having 3-8s. a 7 and a 6 (!) in the mix. The 7 & 6 were completely avoidable, overheld forced shots. So days i just can't get outa my head !

**** 25 Yd IRONS **** 3-29-21

***50-Yd SCOPED ENTRY PRACTICE***
DATE: 04/1/21
SCORE: 196-1X
NAME (flinthills), AGE(78):
LOCATION: Air Capitol Gun Club
GUN: BSA Martini MKIII
GUN SETUP: palm rest, schuetzen hook
Scope: Lyman SuperTargetSpot 20X
AMMO: Eley Target
INDIV TGTS SCORES: 38-0x, 44-1x, 36-0x, 37-0x, 41-0x
NOTES, Sunny, low 50's, wind 10 mph from 12 o'clock.
Stars finally aligned. Thought I would never find a good day. Sure has been windy. Didn't do as good as I had hoped. Had to rest once before last 10 shots. 4 shots outside the black. 3 5's and a 6. Two of my poorer shots were after my rest. Resting in middle of string needs to be avoided if possible as lose position and rhythm. But my last shot before the rest was a 5. It wasn't going to get any better. Had one lucky shot. Gun went off when not ready but was a 7. Could have been zero. Hopefully won't need a month to get another good day. Tomorrow and first couple of days next week wind is to be in the 20's.

Seems a 480 is unobtanium for me. But it is definitely an awesome score.
Those that do it are in a different league than I.

I continue to be impressed by the degree to which this match is a valid and repeatable measure of ability. My best day with my best rifle is clustered in the 460s, and has been for two years.

I hear you loud and clear. Though I have cracked the 470 mark a few times recently.

Comments: Happy with this one. Had 15mph gusts which I guess isn’t too bad but you sure see it at 20 power.

Sunday 25 yard iron sight practice 4/4/21
Score: 473-13X
Name: 72coupe/Roy Woodman
Location: Wichita Falls, Tx
Rifle: RPRR
Set Up: Aperture Sights
Ammo: Wolf MT
Individual Target Scores: 90-2X, 97-4X, 95-1X, 97-5X, 94-1X one 7, three 8s
Notes: Heavy overcast, 70°, wind 15 mph. A good day for shooting but on the next set shot number 16 was a miss. It didn't go off when I expected so I closed my eyes and jerked the trigger. I really need to break myself of that habit.
