Honestly, I get at least as much fun with my scoped 717 as I do with my identically-configured IZH (mostly because I'm not afraid to knock about the woods with the 717).
Yes I know it isn't as accurate - but I'm still the weak link.

If I couldn't find an affordable Izzy, I'd look for an also-discontinued 747 (w/ the better bbl) so I could spend more time shooting & less time looking.

Just my 177 cents,

Now the more pressing question! Where can I find the gun to mount the scope. I’ve been all over the internet trying to find one to buy.

Yes there is one for sale on Guns America for $700 and Gun Broker has a few listings for $750, but that’s about two hundred more than the last two sold for on EBay. I can’t justify paying that much of a premium. I found a page offering one for $600 at Air Gun Warehouse in Texas, but I think that one is a mirage because calling the listed telephone number connected me to some type of insurance poll?

Any ideas or leads available.

No longer available...
But Air Venturi is now importing them under AV-46M model with laminated grip. Price is a little high at $599 but appears to be the samo samo...Manufactured by Alpha Precision in Russia

Got one, I mean two...

Enough time has passed that this issued has been resolved. I found an IZH 46M with Corcoran grips for a good price and then bought one of the first Air Venturi models when they came out. So, it appears I have that covered.

The scope mount, of course, is another matter. Still waiting for the one ordered in December but have been told they should be arriving “soon”. Sun optics has ordered 3,000 units and has over 1,800 back orders. With the shipping and pandemic woes they may be a little slow getting here. But with that demand I think they will be available at some point.

My Sun Optics mount came in today. Ordered 12/23/2020 from B&H. Looks like it will fit just fine. I was beginning to believe I'd never see it.

Got an email from B&H on 7/18/2021 saying they were back in stock.
Ordered 2 of them from B&H Photo on 7/18.
Supposed to be here in a day or two per tracking info.
Stay tuned.

Mine is supposed to be here on July 31st. Going to mount it on a Daisy 717. Looking to the brethren for red-dot sight suggestions. Want a small (2-min or so?) dot. Can't see the sights anymore with any precision. I'm planning to use this rig for backyard chipmunk control, the buggers are drilling holes all over the place! One final question, does the Daisy have adequate power for close-up shots (maybe 20ft or less) to dispatch these little devils humanely? Pellet recommendations?

I use an AT3 Tactical, 2 MOA red dot on one of my IZH pistols, and a scope on the other.
The AT3 Tactical is $99 from them or Amazon, it's light, easy to operate, works great for my old eyes and it has a lifetime guarantee. What's not to like?
This is my 4th sight from them. I have one on my Browning Buckmark Silhouette pistol also. That one's the red dot with green laser. The laser's a hoot for plinking!

Here's an older pic of my two Izzys, one with the red dot, and the other with open sights before I gave up on that and went with a scope.
