Boyds shady camo?

Log in to see fewer ads
Thinking of ordering one of Boyds blaster stocks for my 10/22 in the Shady Camo color. If anyone has one, (or another style stock) would love to see an actual photo instead of going off of their website color chart.

Thanks

Thanks for the photos!
Correct me if Im wrong, but l believe yours is the forest camo. I believe the shady camo has just the grey and brown laminate, without the green.

every time Boyds gets a batch of any color in, it will be slightly different than the last...that's just the nature of wood and dye.. sometimes the wood will take the dye well and look quite vibrant, and the next batch might look a little pale

but here's a pic of the brown/gray you're looking for... it's a stock I got from CWP though, not Boyds, but at least you get the idea

Now, that's ugly..

(Edited for clarity, referring to post #2)

Although I've seen people put paint splatters all over their rifles, so I guess whatever floats your boat..

sometimes when you're collecting things that come in different colors, you have to take the good along with the not as good

and note that Ruger did two versions of the brown/gray stock...the first one was brown/gray/gray (as seen in the group pic above) and then came brown /gray as seen in my first post above (which CWP called black velvet)

...personally I'd like to see more of the single colored stocks like the black and brown Target stocks, and the pink Carbine and Compact stocks were done

Laminate stocks are not my favorite, but they have some pros and cons over their plastic adversaries.

They are stiffer, and easier to make minor fitment alterations to.
They are heavier .

I have a few, but to be honest I prefer a nice walnut stock .

Thanks for everyone’s help! I think l have a better idea of what to expect (actual color) thanks to the actual photos you have posted.

I know the laminate stocks are not for everyone and and some of the color combos can seem a little extreme, but the way l see it is, different strokes for different folks. If we all liked the same thing it would be kind of boring. I am just happy to be able to have the availability of a different style stock and color at an affordable price.
