Another H&R Reising question.

Posted one of thes questions on another forum. I bought this model 65 H&R Reising and I’m finally getting her to shoot. My question is how can you tell of the the stock is original? These photos are a couple of days old but newer ones are posted on the Marlin/H&R forum.

I have two H&R 65's. Neither has a grip cap on it. Will ask a friend if his has a grip cap on them.

Under my butt plate is stamped D236. The butt plate also reads the sane D236 stamped.

I suspect you're correct. I've looked a quite a few photos of these rifles and I don't see a cap on this style. Only the carbine has them and mine isn't a carbine.
