I've been reloading for my .223 Ruger 77 for a long time now. I went with a lightened Timney trigger but not the sear kit. The trigger is set at about 6oz and is super crisp and clean. Still wouldn't shoot. I've tried so many different powders a bullets it was ridiculous. THEN, I discovered that the early .223 barrels had a twist rate of 1:12 and won't shoot 55gr and heavier bullets. I've had a health issue recently and haven't been able to chase the correct load with 52 and 53gr bullets for mine yet. I've never read that Ruger was known for accuracy back in the day anyway. If I can find 1/2 MOA I'll be happy~!

Mine will hold the ten ring, and that's good enough for what I use it for, 1/2 moa is a lot to hope for what it is.

My 1/12 savage bull in 223 likes the 50 grain or less varmint tipped.

Why not both? Top is .22 WMR with Leupold Compact 2x7. Bottom is .22 LR with 4X Nikon.
