Stimulating the economy

One gun at a time!

A beautiful day in and around San Antonio for a motorcycle ride. Destination the Cabela’s Gun Library in Buda, TX. I’m not from Texas; so I don’t know the back roads so it was an I-35 North trip of about 60 miles. Bad day to go north on the Freeway! It took me 2 hours and 45 minuted to get there; and an hour to get back!

I did stimulate the economy with part of my latest stimulus check, finding and buying 1988 Japanese made Grade 1 SA22. Lucky for me it’s a takedown model so it fit in the backpack I brought along with me just in case I needed it!

Here’s a photo until I can get outside with my camera tomorrow. The badge is a Customs Officer’s commemorating the 10th Anniversary of 9/11. Although never commissioned or issued to active officers they were designed and through the efforts of one retired officer several hundred 10 and 20 year badges were commissioned and bought, mainly by retired Inspectors and Officers.

Yes it was a beautiful day in Kentucky yesterday also. Congratulations on finding that rifle, well worth the 1.5 hrs. trip.

I believe there were a few “non takedowns”, very rare though.

gcrank1 I just read your post. I am riding on BMW's 2021 1st Edition R-18. With 1,802 cc it is BMW's largest opposed piston Twin. With 91hp and 116 ft lb of torque it's a beast!

That thing has more horsepower than a lot of cars.

Nice rifle, by the way.

At least get a SA22!

I love the 1960s BMW bikes. Rode a friend's, circa 1969. I could almost be tempted to buy one just as man cave art.
I won't ride, as I was lucky to survive a spill on that same friend's Ducati 250 Desmo in 1970.
