Remington 512 Sportmaster refinish

My Brother brought me this Remington 512 Sportmaster (the second one I have done for him). It wasn't in too bad of shape, the stock needed some cleaning up. Then I polished and reblued most of the steel parts

Only thing I could offer is that the stock could have been stained darker prior to the finish being applied, but that is just my taste in 5-teen stock color.

Thanks for the kind words

The pictures were taken outside in natural light, the wood doesn't look that light when indoors.

He has another one that is in similar shape, it has a steel or aluminum inner mag tube, probably an earlier production one?

I blue guns myself, using home built tanks and propane burners. I prepare a bath of salts (sodium hydroxide + sodium nitrate). The polishing is done by hand, using sandpaper then crocus cloth.
