A good mildot scope?

Looking for a good value midrange, mildot side focus scope for a 17 hmr. I just heard of the Athlon line. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks

I don't know what your mid-range price is, but my 1st choice for my mid-range is the Vortex 4-16x 44mm at $349.00 or the 6-24 50mm at $399.00. Very bright and clear glass on both.
The Athlon 4-20x50mm and Hawke 6-24x 44mm are good choices if you need lower cost. Check them out......

Not sure whether 'midrange' means target range or price range. So I'll recommend you look at a scope that will satisfy both categories. The Tract Toric 4-20X50 is a high-value scope, IMO. It might be too big/heavy for a hunting scope; don't know if that is what you'll be using it for. But it is great glass, great reticle, great turrets and works well on small targets out to 400 yards. This might be hard for you, since you are from the "Show Me State". They are not sold in retail stores. But you can arrange a no-questions-asked free return.
Another scope I've found to be a fabulous rimfire scope is the Leupold Freedom Rimfire series. The 'rimfire MOA' reticle works well for me. It has 25 MOA hold-over marks and comes in a couple different magnification ranges. Leupold makes several side-focus scopes too; for bit more $$$.
FWIW, I've had several lower end Athlons and Vortex scopes (Argos, Helos, Diamondback). All were OK to pretty darn good, I'd say. But I've been told I'm a glass snob.
BTW, there is a used 3-15 Razor listed on the Texas Hunters Forum now; these are fantastic. (MOA reticle, however)
You have sooo many good scope choices you can get easily overwhelmed. Good luck!

You may be able to find an older Super Sniper for between $300 and $350, but they're getting harder to find. SWFA carries them new at $400.

Thanks for everyone’s replies. Like mentioned it can get a little overwhelming and then the question of ring height.

Big fan of Athlon scopes. Have had there Argos BTR Gen2 6-24x50, a Midas Tac 4-16x44 and have an Ares ETR UHD 3-18x50 on order at the moment. All great scopes. The Argos was $399, the Midas Tac $589 and the Ares $999. Depends what your Mid price is. The Midas Tac was my "higher end" scope until ordering the Ares ETR which now I'll put the Midas Tac in the mid priced range personally.
