RUGER® SCOPED RIFLE TAKEDOWN CASE

As mentioned in another Charger thread topic a few days ago, my new Charger Talo 04919 arrived without the beige soft case previously furnished with non-takedown models. I subsequent learned that Ruger discontinued those starting in year 2017 and mine was produced/shipped earlier this year 2019.

So, I started shopping options, incl that beige Ruger bag, the Ridgid hard case from Home Depot and others. I found the beige bag online for prox $26 shipped, however forum member owner comments stated that was just barely better than nothing at all. Checking the ShopRuger website for Charger accessories revealed nothing, however this RUGER® SCOPED RIFLE TAKEDOWN CASE seemed would work well. Likely some forum members have these cases as furnished with later production 10/22 takedown rifles but I found no mention of them within the Charger subforum. I wasn't gonna spend $80+, so googled and found this one for $56 shipped online. I got their last in stock which I suspect was a takeoff from one of their custom builds, since they sell the OEM stocks, receivers, etc as periodically available. The Charger user manual tucked inside was an added bonus, seemingly confirming this was a takeoff item.

I'm very pleased with construction quality and versatility with Velcro mounting attachments and cushions all fully positionable as suits your firearm. Plenty of space for a scope or other optic and likely a 25-round mag inserted in the firearm plus no need to remove the bipod (oriented either direction). Padded flaps add more protection plus 3 zippered pockets for extra mags etc. The Velcroed Ruger logo patch comes off too for covert transport...

That bag is awesome. They actually thought about it this time. I love how all the straps and pouches are velcroed in.

^^^ Agreed! Like it enough for the Charger 22 that I just now snagged another case from the same seller which will be used to transport my (2) Ruger MkII pistols within one case. Confirmed enough room for both, including my Comp Target "slabside" with UltraDot optic mounted. No optic on the other (Target bull) but sufficient room if equipped similarly.

I use a tennis racket bag that I bought at Walmart. It has plenty of room for an SBR or the Ruger Charger, a pistol and ammo. The front pouch has plenty of room for mags. Best of all, it was $14.00 and no one knows you are carrying a gun.

Most carry bags designed for firearms scream out "FIREARM!!" even when they don't have any manufacturer's name or emblem on them, so I really like the idea of using a WILSON tennis racket bag as a covert firearm carry bag, it's genius!

If I did so I'd probably also carry along a bag of tennis balls to help support the illusion (with each one filled with Strike-Anywhere match heads and appropriately re-sealed (Ninja "sport" grenades)):

Just don't mix them up with your other tennis balls if you happen to play 'cause your first bounce or serve on the court will definately draw attention!
