Sight options for the Model 41

I'm curious about all the different kind of sights that are/have been offered for the Model 41. I know there were at least four or five different rear sights, including the factory "T" shaped, the Keng (I think), the revolver type, and the Millett. Were there any others? If someone could show pictures of all the above and any others, I would greatly appreciate it. Also, opinions on which one(s) are the best? I know this is somewhat subjective, but would still be very informative and helpful.

Also, how many different front sights and approximate time frames for both front and rear? Again, photos would be appreciated.

So, did I cover them all?
My favorites are the original - what I call the "T" type and the larger Keng (I guess), normally found on the 5.5 inch heavy barrel (is this right?).

About 20 years ago, Smith and Wesson actually had an outlet store, or maybe more correctly put, a factory store in Sevierville, TN, and I bought a 7 inch barrel there that was factory drilled and tapped. If I recall correctly, it was on sale for about $170. The ones they had in stock, again if I recall correctly, had revolver sights. I thought I would rather have the then currently available Millett, so the clerk kindly said if I wanted, I could pay for one on sale and the factory would ship me one with a Millett. About two weeks later, I did receive the new barrel. Not much later, I decided to put a scope on it for squirrel hunting, so I found a cheap NcStar 2X. Even though the optical quality isn't the best, I've shot some incredibly small groups with it (1/4 - 1/2 inch at 25 yards and 3/4 - 1 inch at 50). While I like the Millett sights OK, they just don't seem as high quality as the factory sights.

I did later replace the NcStar with a much better Thompson/Center pistol scope.
I was just hoping to get some more input on which sights ya'll like best.

Being old and woozy Bill I'm finding myself liking red dots more and more...even if the dot does look more like a Junebug squashed on a windshield than a circle.

Especially indoors. Outside I can still appreciate irons.

Thanks Frank.
I also have a relatively inexpensive TruGlo red dot and a holosight type that both seem to work quite well on my M41. I especially like the fact that they offer an almost unlimited field of view compared to a scope, so for hunting squirrels I think both would be good choices. The holosight is lighter and more compact, so I would probably choose it. The problem with all of these, including scopes, is the extra bulk and the difficulty in holstering any of them.

I forgot all about the newest ones. So that makes five variations of adjustable rear sights so far. Thanks, Tim. By the way, I'm still liking the field barrel a lot, especially its rear sight.

I purchased a brand new Model 41 in 1998. My dealer ordered this pistol from Gil Hebard Guns in Knoxville, Illinois. As can be seen in the photos, it came with a Bo-Mar BM-41 Rear Sight. As I recall, Gil ordered Model 41's without rear sights and then had the Bo-Mars installed as an upgrade.

I think it is the finest rear sight of any that can be found on a Model 41 due to its superior design, quality workmanship, rugged construction, and fine adjustments which are both very positive and very uniform. Unfortunately, they are no longer made.

Mr. Alexander,
That definitely is a beautiful sight than what came on mine. Mine is a new 2019 model. But I love it.

That does appear to be a very fine sight. I seem to recall the Bo-Mar was quite popular with PPC revolver shooters. Based on the Model Number of yours, it must have been made specifically for the Model 41.
Nice grips too, Herretts? Interesting back strap too.
