Currently working on new guidelines for this match. Please check back later this month (March 2020) for updates. I need your input so most of us are happy with the way this match is run.

Interesting thing today. After shooting this, I shot a Remington 521 which has sling swivels, so I used a front rest. The Remington has a post front sight and a heavy trigger with a very long travel. Terrible, so I gave up on it and went to finish with the Model 64 but just used the front rest instead of the bi-pod which I had removed when done the first time. Wow, a very different point of impact and a much larger group. I put the bi-pod back on and back to shooting the way it was earlier. I have no explanation, I am just reporting this.

Hank Smith (Pastprime), Salisbury, NC
H&R Model 12, Olympic rear and front sight.
Caldwell Tackdriver bag front, Bald Eagle bag rear.
Cloudy, 52 F, 10-14 mph variable wind.

48-1x,47-2x,50,3x,50-4x=195-10x RWS Special Match

50-3x,50-3,48-3x,49-3x=197-12x Center-X

It's been several years since I shot in these matches but always enjoyed the challenge of aperture sight shooting. The rifle is more than capable, but the shooter has a long way to go.....

I'll be doing some of that plus fine tuning my equipment. I think I can get back to shooting in the 200's by end of the year. But, for now I'm just going to try and get out more and enjoy the time at the range.

Hank

chuck40219 Louisville Ky
Winchester 52 D Heavy, Olympic rear and front sight
Bald Eagle Front Rest, Protextor Rear Bag
Eley Edge (found this, I think from 2013) Remember that it shot good.
43-53 *F. 5-8 mph, overcast , rain, and just to cold for me to be out as long as I was.

50-4x, 50-3x, 50-3x, 50-3x=200 13x

I think this is the first 200 I have shot in this game.

Ed Magnusen (emagcon), Tucson
200-16x, Win 52b, heavy bbl, Eley Target
Olympic front, Redfield Internatinal Match rear
Cowan rest front, Protektor rear
50-4x, 50-3x, 50-5x, 50-4x = 200-16x
Sunny, 50 degrees, wind 0 to 5mph from 6 o’clock switched to 11 o’clock later
Also shot 200-11x and 199-11x same set up

Rifle had custom Sight on rear. Would not hold tight groups. Change to Redfield International Match and had very good day. Entire Tucson crew absent! Did the sight change help,or was it the missing harassment?
