Okay, Serial is "01433", not 01453. Date code puts it at August 1937.
I just listed it on gunbroker. I am a shooter, not a collector. I have several
Anschutz, a 40x & a Kleinguenther k22 that I shoot regularly. The 37 shoots
wonderfully and I hear the triggers are not great on the early ones, but I have
to say it would be hard to improve on this one, it's nice! The quality on these are absolutely stellar, couldn't even begin to compare to say, a new Savage etc.
Shame we can't do better 80 years later...

They truly are a masterfully crafted rifle...
Just about absolutely "0" - ZERO quality in todays rifles vs the old 37's.

I think most of today's production are very sloppy and rough.

I just got my 37 a few days ago. Serial is 08919 but there is only 2 letters in the right hand side of my barrel. R and J. I'll try and get a picture of it.

Remington 37

Looking thru the list which was posted on here, it looks like mine is from 1951, I was unsure prior to this as lettering not great on it, XX O, serial # 10137.

Anyone know the signifcance of these. The letters on the side of the barrel are FF with the maltese style symbol beside it and I was wondering what these might mean

Looks good! Not a thumbhole person, but that is a nice stock from yesteryear.
