Bought it more than 30 years ago, will dig it out, get the barrel date info and post pics in a couple of days.
Also have another interesting Rem -- 40x, Ser. No. 500, med/heavy barrel drilled for Redfield Olympics front and back, and have the receiver mount. Its in a heavy (not varmint) stock. Will post pics on that too.
Always love to see pics

Action with matching number bolt. Received with a trigger and barrel neither installed. Barrel date code is R J which is weird.

Is there an updated list with all the new serial numbers/dates?

I still owe you some pictures. As you said, mine is an early model and may manifest some info you want.

Mike, after having given your question some thought I have decided not to post the data again and here's why. I have been asked to send the spreadsheet to an individual via an email. I didn't know this person so I asked what his intent was for the information and was told that he was writing a book on the Model 37 and this info would be helpful and probably incorporated into the book. I started this search out of my own curiousity and for no other reason. The folks that have contributed their information did not give me permission to post their info nor did I ask them for it. The only information that I keep is the serial number of the receiver and barrel date code letters, I do not keep names, email addresses or any personal information provided. I'm sorry I will not be posting the spreadsheet information again and I sincerly hope you and everyone who has already contributed their information and those that have yet to will understand my desicion. Thank you all.

Okay, sounds prudent.

I am not worried if the Feds know I have a rifle.

37 Datum

I was hoping the 37 serial numbers provided would be used by the entire RFC community as a baseline for production dates and equally useful for yearly trends, comparison of stock vs. modified and provide us access to photos and information on exceptional examples. I'm sure we all appreciate your personal time and effort and hope this information could be displayed in some form for easy access by all who contributed and the casual browser.

Just bought what seems to be a nice one. Its serial # is 6412 and its barrel code indicates 6/47.

I posted some pix a couple of days ago. I have been trying to figure if the sights are factory. The front looks like it is original in that the mount does not seem to be a replacement for the ramp type that I have otherwise seen.
