10/22 in Drag

Well, the carbine that was my original thought, a psuedo M-1 carbine (Tacticool MkI?), morphed again......
Now:
Late '90s Basic carbine receiver with a JWH bolt and hammer, modded oem hold release, a better ?brand scope rail, mag joiner for two Bx-1's, probably forgot what else, but it works just fine.
Choate Dragunov stock with some paracord wrap on the comb rail for the cheek; the Choate cheekrest was far too high
Ruger 22" sporter taper ss barrel with sights removed and c/w a blued 'muzzle brake'
Hawke 3-7, AO, mil-dot scope in old high Weaver QD rings
Other than the new JWH products I think everything else was sourced from the good guys here on the RFC Trading Post over the past year.
The nice thing about this 22" barrel is that the shank is the tightest of any barrel I have stuck on; that is 3 or 4 carbine barrels and one Shaw. This one took a few wacks with the wood mallet to seat and no need of the 'gunsmither' type block.
Got it all together just before dark and did a quick sight in; on the steel at 50yd and ready to tweak in with the Nov. heat wave (back to seasonal temps) coming this week.
If I tire of the Dragunov I have a Hogue in the wings.
Pretty neat how these things can completely change character in about 1/2 hr.
Now I get to find out on my own if the Ruger 10/22 ss 22" barrel is any better than the std. carbine barrel. The fun never ends.

Maybe during my layup/recovery from open heart back on 12-19 I can learn some new tricks, like pics
Well, it was 54F today and this got me to thinkin,'now why dont I shoot?'. So I loaded the Drag 10/22 and hit nine out of 10 (my reg chix size sil) at 50yd with a deck rail rest. That was all I was good for but it was enough.
