My son and I both picked up new Savage Mark ll in 17M2 this weekend. Didn't think they were picture worthy, YET. Been working a new walnut stock for my RAR 17HMR. That is now on hold as I just rough-cut a new blank for my son's. Going to be a birthday present. When it's done, I will be working one out of a piece of Mahoney for mine. Once I get it worked down a bit and inlaid, I will post pictures. I am not a fan of plastic stocks. Took a couple courses on stock making 30 years Ago and feel in love with making them ever since.

Wait till you see the Hopkins and Allen I picked up!!! It is a true falling block... like a miniature Winchester Lo-Wall. I have no doubt that the pivoting block of the Favorite is more than adequate for the 17Mach2 round, but this was a practice rifle to see how my stock making skills, etc. would work out. Plus I would like a curved pistol grip, but we shall see!!!
Still it works pretty well don't you think!!!

That's not the most common version of the CZ .17m2, bet you love it.

Converted Ruger 77/22 to 77/17

Here is a Ruger 77/22 converted to a 77/17 HM2 with a Volquartsen Muzzle Weighted barrel and a Boyd's RVT stock... decided to try the Blaze camo, thinking it would look sharp with the mandatory Blaze vest for squirrel season... it does... but just to be safe, I ordered a second RVT in Shady Camo.

I was thinking about going squirrel hunting this afternoon and decided to change the barrel on my Quad to 17hm2, this picture is from last year, it's the 22lr barrel on it here.

Stocks and barrel

Hey guys nice rifles.. I am new to rfc. I have a savage Mach 2 17 that I am wanting to upgrade.. Where can I find aftermarket stocks and a bull barrel? Any help will be appreciated. The rifle is really accurate but the weight just doesn't feel comfortable. It's too lite.. Really like the 17 Mach 2 just want to make it better.

17hm2

Just finished testing this one. I carved the stock fromn a beautiful piece of quilted maple and added 'S' cut walnut burl accents to the butt, grip cap and tip. The build thread is in the 10/22 stock making thread if you want to see the entire process and all. Really liked shooting this one. The VQ barreled action performed as it should with no issues for the 50 rounds I had.
