Barrel Threading & Fluting

I've got a 'spare' MK IV 5.5" bull barrel w/sights (40107). Somewhere in my inter-web searching I ran across a service that will remove and relocate the front sight, and thread the barrel. IIRC, I saw it on GB, but for the life of me cannot relocate the ad/posting. Again, IIRC, the seller was located in MN.

The point of all of this is that I'd like to get the barrel threaded for my suppressor, and at the same time have the barrel fluted, if for nothing else other than looks.

Anyone have any idea who might be able to perform these services reasonably?

I would get a Tactical Solutions fluted and threaded barrel. JMHO.

Thanks.

FWIW, if I were buying another barrel it would be a VC LLV-4, 4.5". For no, I'm just trying to make the factory barrel I have 'more usable.'

Late to the game here but Volquartsen will thread a bull barrel for $70. Fluting may be an issue...

Threading can be found. Having someone cut flutes in it would be a tough one. Plus, you'd need to have it refinished after that.

It's not rocket science. Any competent machinest with a lathe and milling machine or even a milling attachment for their lathe would be capable of doing this. I'm not sure but think they would need a FFL to do this legally. 27 Beck's suggestion would probably be the simplest and also the cheapest solution.

do you know if that includes relocating the front sight?

my LGS is also a gunsmith
they said it'd be less than $100 for threading the barrel, relocating the sight, and a thread protector
I'd imagine close to the same price for fluting
if you have to add shipping both ways ontop of that, you're looking at near $250

I'd probably just look for an aftermarket barrel for just a little more
it's gonna be lighter too
the VQ's start just under $400
and the TS's are $355
