Why Anschutz discontinued the 1717 is simply beyond belief in my opinion, my own1717 is a laser, lovely rifle, will never let it go, simple!

There was a nice one (1717) on Gun Broker last week. I was going to bid on it but fell asleep. It brought good money but was as new.

If itís the one that ended 12/1, it only brought $1130, and it was like new with nice wood. I guess I should have been watching...but watching leads to buying...and ultimately leads to selling. Now that I think of it, when I have sold a specific rifle and then regretted it and bought another like it later, I almost always ended up letting the second one (and third one ) go also. Itís a disease.

Good riddance for me

I bought one. The wing safety was too difficult to operate. Sent bolt to factory. They loosened it up to be operable with left hand. Not a sporter. Excellent from a bench. Bought it after reading Chuck Hawks review. I called him and he did not know squat about the rifle. He suggested hunting with it off safety after I explained the problem. Squirrel hunting though bush off safety, dumb. Coming on target and then struggling with a safety, stupid design. Hence, discontinued. Chambered original polymer tips, not the brass hollow points at all.
