After trying out various things I had in my cabinet (TRS-25, 4x32 scope, etc) I settled on a Vortex Viper 3moa red dot I had on a 22/45.

I like how small and light it is. Spent the morning today looking for rabbits but only saw jacks, so can’t say how I like it for hunting yet, but so far i’m Happy with the ergonomics.

I was running a Nikon p-22 with Warne quick disconnect rings. Nice set-up that did repeat coming on and off. Stole that for my standard 10-22 and going to go with a weaver classic rimfire 2x7. Should be a little more compact with the weaver.

I just stuck a new 16" Ruger barrel on a TD that is in a PMACA chassis...my regular RFRO for Steel Challenge is a 10" CMMG conversion unit on a registered SBR, using CCI Blazer in a Black Dog Xtreme mag... it is very quick... I wanted to retain the AR style pistol grip and adjustable stock but to change the magazine system, as I believe the rotary magazine for a 10/22 is more reliable, so for a project gun stuck a Vortex Spitfire prism dot on it, and was pleasantly surprised with the dime size group I got off the bag at 25yd (indoor range).... the center dot on the Spitfire is very small and did not really work as I wanted for the AR9 PCC it was purchased for, but I think it has found a new home... regards

My eyes are 60 so I'm in the same boat, I went in search of a scope for the TD and the bug buster was most recommended here.. But I also like my primary arms products, the ACSS ranging reticles make shooters out of 1st timers.. So I bought the fixed 6 .22 scope for the takedown, then I bought 1 for the Colt m4-22, then I bought a 3rd for the 15-22.. I/we plink in the backyard from 25-150 yds and pinging 3 inch steel is a breeze at 50-75, 100 gets more challenging but we can ping 10 inch plates out to 150 with great success.. The scope is 9" so it barely exceeds the receiver and fits the bag nicely, The eye relief is also very generous as many have noticed..

Wait till you are 80. I look at the Takedown as a survival gun so I went with Skinner and Leupold. Cheap optics are OK on a plinker but you need quality if your neck depends on it.
I set up my PCC9 differently. The forward peep was not working for me so I replaced it with a Vortex Venom and installed an XS Weaver low mount ghost ring on the pic rail. Long sight radius improved the accuracy with irons and you can see the sights through the red dot when it is off. Co-witness when it is on and the peep sharpens it up.
