Very well could be. I went to school with the kid whose father invented the little rivet that makes the pop-top possible. That was back in the sixties. My father played golf with the old man and said his royalty was a penny per thousand tops. Think of Super Bowl weekend or a roadside ditch and run the numbers. When the money passed on to the kid, he stuck it up his nose.
That's Ron "Popeil" founder of Ronco. The pocket fisherman was actually invented by his father and originally marketed as the Popeil pocket fisherman, now sold under the Ronco brand.
