Fun time with the Polish WZ-48 trainer,,,

I had an unexpected half day off yesterday,,,
So I said, what the heck, and went to the range.

I have lots of rifles to choose form,,,
Since it had been at least a year since last time,,,
I decided to take Krystyna (Krystyna Skarbek) dancing.

I set up a 2" metal spinner at 50 yards and sat at the bench,,,
My bench rig is minimal being an MTM Casegard front rest and a rolled up blanket for the rear.

I wasn't doing anything special,,,
Just some casual plinking with CCI standard velocity ammo.

I truly believe that some days the stars align perfectly,,,
I strung 18 hits on the disk before missing on the 19th shot.

Not bad for a half-blind shaky old 67 (almost 68) year old coot,,,
I was quite pleased with myself.

I have a lot of other fine rimfire rifles,,,
Any of which are fancier, newer, more tricked out,,,
But there is something to be said for going back to simple every now and then.

Krystyna is a very heavy rifle,,,
There is almost no recoil when firing her,,,
It was just leisurely rimfire plinking at it's finest.

I haven't been to the range much this year,,,
It was good to go and just have a bit of stress relieving fun.

What a story thank you for sharing. Glad to see you getting out a little. Keep working at it, meaning making time to get out. But I understand life happens to all of us.

It was nice to just "plink" for awhile,,,

It was nice to just "plink" for awhile.

In recent times I have become preoccupied with "practice",,,
I think I have sucked the fun out of shooting by taking it too serious.

Nothing brings back the fun like a good single-shot rifle,,,
