I haven’t been able to make it to the range this month .
Extended family health issues have kept my shooting buddy , my older brother , from doing much of anything.
Hopefully things will improve next month .
Shoot em straight !

My first set today, I shot a 212.

I've gotten progressively worse in the 3 months I've tried this. First month I shot my Ruger MkII Target. Then the next two with my 22/45. Time to put the 22/45 away and get that MkII back out.

Wind 12mph from rear, put VQ target grips on it that while too large I think I will take the Dremel to them and add some putty here and there to make them mine. Good start for a new high score open sights.

Excuses: Cute blond shooting in the lane next to me?

Decent day, also did some 25 yard practice. Not thrilled with my score, but haven't shot the pistols much lately, and missed any entries last month. Had someone next to me on the left with an AK-47 pistol, but we worked around each other when firing. Both him and the cute blond were good shots... and she was shooting a range rental 9mm. Thankfully these days I can pretty much tune out most 9mm loads.

The 25 yard practice wasn't bad either, but I only put 20 rounds at that distance. I didn't make any adjustments but was shooting for group more or less. With some sighters I think I could get a score that wouldn't make me hang my head in shame... hopefully.

ETA: Today I was looking at my sighter/practice target before I shot the 15 yard stuff. My point percentage was higher on the practice. Maybe I'm trying too hard and just need to get the sight picture and squeeze it off sooner!

And more importantly.... thanks once again for getting this thing rolling Dennis!

This is a new best entry for me and with a no score miss on the last target, it could have been a few more points higher

I also shot a 164 1X at this same time with two lows at 26 & 28. I guess it will help if I can get ALL of them on target!

That's always my goal. A run with 24 hits and a single miss, a 24/25, is outstanding. For the closer games, the scoring rings and the numerical totals may be more significant. For 25 yards a run with not a single miss, a 25/25, demonstrates a level of consistency. If I shoot a 23/25, I don't need to do the math to know I won't like it.

Good to see that score bumping up Jazzsax8. They sure do seem smaller at 25 yards.

I got some more practice in today, but still getting sorted out. I keep fading as I shoot, and I think time constraints make me rush. If I want to shoot a good score, I need to do it early in my trip.

I shot the first 32 rounds today on a single target, adjusting sights and warm up/practice, with one 1 round out of the rings. Once I got fine tuned more, things loosened up as time went on. I think of the last 25 I had three out.

In any case I'm going to work on 25 and enter some scores, good or bad. It's a completely different game with that extra yardage, with only two of you shooting irons at that distance so far, the worst I can do is 3rd!

You are belly laugh of the morning! I picked 25 because its the distance I always test ammo using bags. This gives me at least some kind of relative standard on how a pistol and load is doing. It would be nice to have someone shoot this from the bullseye crowd to compare their average score from both disciplines. I have never even attended an organized competitive shoot so the one we are doing is just a ton of fun!
