HMMM

Glad to hear you got it out. I'm not familiar with the .17 Garin but I have two Savages chambered in .17 Fireball and two .17 caliber 10/22s. The Fireballs seldom see a Boresnake but have occasionally. The rimfires get Boresnaked every time they get shot. I've never had one of them hang up although they do get hard to pull when the back end enters the bore. Curious if there was a defect in the Boresnake causing a knot or clump that hung up where the chamber tapers to .17 cal.

PS. The .17 caliber bullets are .172. I can't imagine the .177 Boresnake would make that much difference but I think the .177s are intended for pellet guns.

I had the same problem except with a 17 HMR. Pulled the bore snake into the bore and while trying to pull the snake on through the nylon string with the weight pulled off of the end of the snake. Luckily there was enough of the snake left at the breech I was able to pull it out backwards. No more bore snakes in 17 cal for me!

Frank, we lived next door to that old gentleman and often he would walk over to our place and tell his daughter it was time to bring me home!
