Any thoughts on which laser would work and look great on the P17 yet?

Budget? For what purpose? Do you want something good or just something to play with?

Considering the pistol MSRP's at $199, I'd like to stay under say $80, unless all of those are junk. I plan to carry the gun at times. Just thinkin'......

Thanks!
Dave

I’m not a fan of lasers but I have a Famous Maker tactical light which is similar to a Streamlight TLR 2 with an integral laser. I much prefer a white light so I’d opt for a light laser combination. Here is a cheap light/Laser similar to my old F/M.

If I'm going to have one and not the other, it's going to be a light before a laser. I prefer a laser/light combo and most of those I'd recommend are out of your price range. I'm a big Streamlight fan. The TLR series is very good and I have several. I don't really gauge it according to what the gun costs but according to how I'm going to use it. Otherwise I wouldn't be buying $250 barrels, $300 triggers and $1700 scopes for $200 10/22's.

I agree in buying quality. Every off brand flash light Iíve purchased has been inferior to a Streamlight. A Streamlight will last a life time and are well designed and manufactured.

I wish I had saved my money and just bought a TLR-1 instead of the Famous Maker. Zanderís Supply was having a promotion and I got the F/M light/Laser cheap. Unfortunately it is a cheap light with incandescent bulb. The current L.E.D. lights are so superior and reasonably priced. A quality tactical light can be moved between different firearms quickly.

Thanks gentlemen! Knowing more what to look for, I'm "scoping out" OLight lights. They are a tad high for me but one in praticular fits the P17, the PL2 Valkyrie mini. Here's where I got the idea on that one. The light info is near the end of the vid.

Thanks! Dave

I only have one from Olight, a handheld that runs on 2 CR123's but it's been a good one.

Olight get good reviews and appear to be reputable manufacturer with some innovative products. I would be more apt to buy an Olight than the light/laser I linked to the ad in Amazon.

Buy a decent light, add a red lens filter, now you have a short range varmint killer!

Streamlight or Crimson Trace

Iíve had a Streamlight TLR4 on a Glock 10mm for years, always held zero and the red laser has a long run time on the CR123 batteries. Never shut off/wavered under recoil. I think you can get them from Amazon around $130. The TLR6 is much smaller but not sure what battery it takes.

Also have a Crimson Trace green laser on a 1911. Also several years old, held zero out to 25 yards.

The green laser is really for training, since the beam is easy to see it lets me see if Iím jerking the trigger. But overall the red is more useful with a much longer life although it can be harder to see in bright sunlight or against dark backgrounds.
