Here we go with another NEW YEAR :2p

Let's hope that it's better than last!

I hope you're all healthy.

*Until we return to normalcy and the shooting ranges are open for business, it's okay to shoot a pellet gun at 10 yards at the target of your choice (trigger time is trigger time). If you can shoot rimfire, please do. Some of us can't. I'm sure we'll do the best we can under the circumstances.*

Make a note of these, they will be the guide for all future Fun Shoots'
SmallCal.

RFC Fun Shoot; Classes and Rules
This Fun Shoot is for any RF cartridge rifle, to include the following, .22 RF, .22 Mag. , .17 RF.

All targets in each class are shot at 25 yards.

The (old) rules for Class 1 expired 4-30-09 and have been deleted. (This update to C-1 made 7-16 09)

Note that we will use three different classes of rifles for this shoot and from now on and these class rules will apply for all future Fun Shoots. Make a note of them.

(NEW Rules for Class 1 Fun Shoot as of 7-16-`09 SPECIAL ADDENDUM to C1 irons and scoped shoot. PLEASE NOTE, that from this date (2-4-2019) on forward the ammo used in this class is limited in price to $4.00 per box for 50 rounds.

This Class 1 Fun Shoot is reserved for beginners and novice of any age.

Targets will be generous and fairly easy to learn on.

Class 1. Box Stock HUNTING/PLINKING rifles only, NO target rifles allowed. Allowed modifications will be limited to the addition of a scope with variable power settings and shortening of the butt stock for fit to smaller shooters. Scope power will be assigned at the time of the shoot. Usually not more than 9X. Iron sighted rifles will use original sights or replacements like the original. Any rest is allowed except Machine Rest.
These modifications to this Class 1 shoot are implemented to allow older beginners and novice shooters to join in the Fun Shoot without the heavy competition of shooting against target type rifles and highly skilled shooters. Those rifles and shooters will go to Class 2 from now on. If you have questions, PM me direct. SmallCal

PLEASE NOTE, that from this date (2-4-2019) on forward the ammo used in this class is limited in price to $4.00 per box for 50 rounds.

SmallCal

(Unchanged)
Class 2; Modified Hunting/Sporting Rifles. Allowed modifications will be limited to the addition of adjustable scopes with the power setting assigned at each shoot, adjustable receiver sights, globe front sights, trigger modifications/replacement to lighten weight of pull but NO low end limit but must be safe. Barrel replacement of any design that doesn`t make your rifle exceed the weight limit of 10.5 lb. total weight. Stock modifications or replacement stocks that resemble thumbhole or sporting stocks which have a convex forend profile and horizontal width no greater than 2 inches wide are allowed.
If your Modified Sporting Rifle exceeds any one or more of the above limits, it will be in the higher Class 3 group.

(Unchanged)
Class 3; All of those rifles that were/are designed for the strict purpose of Bench Rest Shooting with unlimited modifications and all of those rifles that exceed any limits in the Modified Hunting/Sporting Rifle class.
This class can be divided into two sub classes of those bench rifles with scopes (unlimited power) and those with iron sights (unlimited type). This sight division will allow all of the super race guns to be included here.

If you are unsure of the class you should be in, go to the next higher class and state that on your score/target postings.
I do know that there will be some rifles that are so close to fitting into more than one category that its hard to tell where they should go. If in question, go up a class.

Post score as shown here.

P-dog

Calm but wet day, had to give them a quick shot between running today,

Class lll
PJ- John
CZ 457 At-One
Athlon, Helos 6-24x50
SK rifle Match
220/240,, I think I scored that right, 10 points each shot?
Ex: man those little beady eyes are tough..lol:gun4:
Does it mean I'm a veteran now,,I already had this target printed from last time,, :D

Oh and the bottom targets on the board are how the air gun practice is going..

#5 ·
Real good shooting on the critters John :bthumb:

With respect to your critter target what's up with the air rifle? Seems like something is loose or?

Leej:D
I'm getting better, but honestly this springer is the hardest gun to shoot I've ever owned,, but a lot of that was sighting the new Hawke scope in,, not just shooting groups... or.. maybe it's just me,,,lol

You did really well John :bthumb:

...even though it's on the WRONG TARGET....

Hahahahahahaaaa.....

But that view makes it worth missing some shooting now and then. I'm not a fan of snow or cold usually, but I thought it was a beautiful place.

That said, I finally have an entry for a month before you do. You could have shoveled a snow tunnel to shoot!

RFC Alias - Signmaster
First name - Bob
Score - 115/120
Class - C1 irons
Rifle make - Remington 513T
Ammo - Eley Force
Weather conditions - indoor range

Excuses - It's not a gnome or rhino so I hit the target more often. :bthumb: I just realized that I went over ammo price by a quarter a box, but I didn't try to count my 5 as a 10, so there is that.

Those targets were hard on my old eyes through a peep sight. I think a trip to the eye doctor is in order.

Stay warm and shoot when you can everyone. If the weather doesn't change soon, we may all have to shoot for Øystein this month. I don't want to lower his record, so I'll volunteer someone who shoots better.

Nicely done Bob... :t

It's wet here. By June or July we'll have some nice days to go shooting!

Great shooting Bob and in my humble opinion if that’s the ammo you have and your willing to entertain us then please keep shooting. I suspect by June or July I won’t have any $4 box ammo any more. I’m in this for a few jabs from all the shooters here and all the practice I can get. Have no idea why I’m practicing so much but I am.

The worst part is I simply forgot. I do have some cheaper ammo, I've just been shooting the (still cheap) Eley Force in the 513.

And you're right... unless I save all my cheaper stuff for fun shoots, I won't have any much longer. The only stuff I have that fits the cost per round is the last of my bulk stuff... and then just barely.

Great shooting Stan as always. :bthumb:

I shoot the last one on your sample John. I have two sleeves of different lot numbers to find the best one for me. What a joke, I will never to shoot the potential of this rifle. Also have a tin from Champions Choice private label that shoot nearly as well. Same size and weight. If your looking for printed info on pellet guns take a look at Hard Air Magazine. It’s an on-line publication. Lots a great information and unbiased reviews.

Great shooting Jack. Dang you can shoot those irons. :bthumb:

Love the landscape Øystein. Enjoy it while you can.

Really good shooting Jack... :t

Hard to get 3 in a quadrant when you're shooting with irons.

On another note, I just got gifted this for the camera collection.

It's a beauty from 1959... :D

Thanks fellows. I used your tip earlier in the season Stan. I mounted the target at a 45 degree angle and raised the rear sight 2 clicks and aimed for dead center. And a nice camera Stan. I had 2 of that vintage from my dad and my uncle. Each daughter has one now for display.

Little windy today but got out and shoot the Scoped lll target,, “ I think,
Considering the events of today seams like a good day to get some trigger time..

115/120
CZ 457,
Athlon, Helos
SK rifle match
Damp cold and 5 mph wind

Not sure about the last target with the two rounds tear out, so like always I scored it down..
And the results of some pellet testing ,, I think the last two targets where more to do with hold, then the pellets going to re test them in hind sight.

Really good shooting John. Looking like trigger time on the air is paying off. Won't be much longer and you'll be making single holes. :bthumb:

Really good shooting to you too Stan. :bthumb:
I was thinking those are really small targets and will be a challenge.
