I'm working on a 50' Benchrest Indoor League at our club this winter. What I'm wondering is if there are other clubs that have an activity like this and some pointers from fellow shooters who participate? If there is anyone out there with some experience with this, please let me know since we have a organizational meeting next Tuesday.
This indoor 50ft. the league is still in play even during this pandemic. Well attended and drawing people from 35-mile plus. All types of guns and skill, of course, we have our share of sharpies. :t
I can't imagine what target would produce any kind of challenge at that distance.
Even if the 10 ring or an X is the size of a period, I think it could be hit every time.
So just wondering.
I shot this at 25yds outdoor, so maybe a target like this would work. Only look at the last row. The other rows were no challenge at all, so I just popped off a round near the middle. This is a worst edge target so my minus 5 points was because the edge of the round was outside of the black.
I shot the green monster indoor at 50 foot on our club range,at age 71 with both my CZ 455 and 1903 Annie , 248/13x Annie and 249/12 x on the CZ, was my best to date on 9x power scope. I think it could be a challenge even shooting the NRA small bore 10 spot target ,that is what the club offers ( rim fire only ) to shooters as well as the same in pistol slow fire. A target with just periods could be made up but scoring could be really fussy ? Anyway just a thought . I am practicing for the outdoor CZ 25 yd and for the Anschutz , for when our out door range opens.
