Is it rare and/or have extra value?
Local FFL thinks it’s worth at least $900. Target hammer, trigger, and grips. Bluing is good.

Sounds like a 17-8. Essentially a blue 617. Rare might be an overused word, but there are certainly not a lot of them out there to be had. $900 would be high for me, but they're worth what you're willing to pay for them.
I've owned two. They are excellent shooters.

I agree with ronny on the pricing. Does it include the box and stuff that came with it?

I have a 17-6 6" full lug. $900 sounds high to me.

Less common with the full lug, not rare. I paid $800 a couple months ago for one in as new condition with box and papers. Thought it was a little high but I don't see them very often. No regrets, it's become a favorite. Very accurate, fantastic trigger.

I am in Canada and just put my hands on a 17-6 full lug. Here, they are really rare. Mine is in very good condition and came with original box and papers. I paid 850$ Canadian which would make it about 625 $ US dollars. I am quite happy.

The early 17-6s in the late 80s had a half lug barrel (had one), so not all 17-6s had the full lug. The later full lug 17-6s are harder to find since they had a short run. Note that those factory wooden finger groove grips on the 17-6 also command a premium price. Adds to the value when present.

yes those combat grips on the full lug 17-6 revolvers are quite expensive if you had to replace them.

the way i think.

its not like you see those falling out of trees everywhere you go.

the price maybe a bit high, but it will depend on where you are and how bad or not you want it if at all.

buy once, cry once.
